after almost a year,
my stray dog freedom is at stake,
and all of the give and take that i've forgotten
is remade and remade.i have such hostile fear of the giving up these days,
the feelings of someone much wiser than i really am,
but like a ship at sea, with strange harbors calling my way,
i am drawn, thirsting not for more water, but for land.
