one generally thinks
that life and death are mutually exclusive;
trade-offs must be made between the two.but what if i only want to be remade,
redone as another in my place,
to learn once again what it means
(to me) to be a human being.
here, living is dying is living again.
once to hear the birds, twice to love another,
a third time to rewrite all those songs,
and a fourth to watch waves break on the water.
