for her for you

for her, i destroy the remnants of your visits: wine glasses and bottles, half-smoked cigarettes. i tear to pieces receipts from dinner, and, in moments, hide my love for you.for you, i take apart my life: her artwork from my walls, her notes. i ease away from the comfort of years and into the shadows as i move you into my bed, quick and light. i cannot see what either of you does, eyes blinded by the sunlight, and thus i dance half-alone into the night, never quite steady for lack of balance.
