already, a month before, i start to think about the things i'll miss:wild blackberries at the lake, grown so big in the sunshine; the curves in the road sweeping through the farmlands on the way to park, only twenty miles outside the city; the kitchen job and making breakfast at six for shifting groups of kids and administrators; beers in the yard, grass yellowed from the sun and endless foot traffic; a bottle of wine at two in the afternoon on the fourth of july; the balcony at sunset.
